Alyssa Nash is a multidisciplinary artist from Iowa whose work — spanning oil painting, calligraphy, and poetry — explores grief, identity, and healing.

Art has always been Alyssa’s refuge. She began creating as a child during her father’s journey with Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD) and later discovered she carries the same FTD gene. After stepping away from art for a time, she returned to it as a lifeline — a way to hope and heal.

Her work now serves as both expression and advocacy, offering comfort to others facing similar paths.

With her loyal dog Nala by her side, Alyssa is proud to honor all “furry caregivers” through this year’s Pets of FTD calendar.
